Hello and welcome to my profile!

My name is Carolyn Arroyo and I’m a transportation engineering graduate student from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez. I have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and am currently the president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers UPRM Student Chapter (ITE).
​
Transportation has always been my passion. The topics among the field that I’m more interest about are road safety, intelligent transport systems (ITS), public transit and highway design. My biggest goal is to be able to practice the engineering profession here in my Island, contributing to the development of our transportation system.
​
During the 2018-2019 academic year, I received the prestigious Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program scholarship. Thanks to this I had the opportunity to present my master’s project in the world's largest transportation professional forum, Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington D.C.
